About Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT)

The Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), formerly known as TAR University College (TAR UC), was founded in 1969. A premier tertiary education institution with over 50 years of excellence and rated 'Berdaya Saing (Competitive)' in the latest SETARA rating, the institution was recently upgraded to a full-fledged university in April 2022 with the vision of being a leading university capable of transforming the future. 

TAR UMT Johor Branch Campus offers an impressive range of cutting-edge facilities which includes a purpose-built Information Technology Centre, auditorium, lecture theatres, and a sports complex with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, squash court, dance studio, music room and a fully equipped gymnasium.

TAR UMT’s main campus is in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. It also has other branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Sabah and Pahang.

• Applicable for national athletes who have represented Malaysia in sanctioned international games or championships including Southeast Asian Games, ASEAN University Games, and ASEAN School Games
• For state athletes, must have represented the state in national sanctioned games or championships including MSSM and SUKMA, SIPMA and won at least a bronze medal
• TAR UMT athletes who have represented TAR UMT in Universiade Games, Asian University Games, SUKMA, SUKIPT, SIPMA and won at least a bronze medal are also eligible for this scholarship
• Scholars must train and represent TAR UMT in MASISWA, SUKIPT and IPT games or any other tournaments as and when required
• Must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00
