Principle responsibilities & duties:
1. Corporate Tax Compliance and E-invoicing.
• Preparation detailed tax analysis and supporting schedules for corporate income tax returns, tax estimates to ensure accuracy and timeliness in compliance with statutory deadlines.
• Prepare quarterly tax provisions and deferred tax reports for financial reporting.
• Manage monthly e-invoicing submissions including data validation, reconciliations between accounting systems and tax records and resolution of discrepancies.
• Actively support and coordinate system enhancements related to e-invoicing and tax reporting, including requirement gathering, testing and post implementation reviews.
• Handle day-to-day tax compliance activities, including documentation management, statutory filings, and readiness for tax audits, queries and reviews by authorities.
2. Indirect Taxes (SST & Withholding Tax)
• Provide timely and accurate responses to internal stakeholders on SST and withholding tax matters, including transaction reviews and tax treatment assessments.
• Ensure correct application of indirect tax and withholding tax rules in accordance with prevailing legislation, guidelines and administrative practices.
• Support ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes and assess financial impact on the business.
3. Stamp Duty
•Support stamp duty assessments, submissions and ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely compliance with local regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation and tracking of stamped instruments to support audits and internal reviews.
4. Ad-Hoc Projects & System Support
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live readiness, post-implementation support for tax-related system enhancements and new business initiatives.
• Assist to conduct tax research, technical analysis and impact assessments for new projects
• Assist in the ongoing development and enhancement of the tax corporate governance framework, including continuous improvement of tax controls, policies and compliance workflows.
Minimum job requirement (education & experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• At least 2-3 years working experience in tax department (MNC / Accounting firm).
• Strong passion in learning and mastering Income Tax & Indirect Taxes.
• Excellent working knowledge in Excel.
• Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners is needed.
• Strong analytical, comprehension and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conceptualize.
• Diligent, attention to detail, ability to work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
