Just got your SPM 2024 results and already looking for a scholarship to apply to? We've got you!
Here is a list of some of the most prestigious and sought-after scholarships in Malaysia. Most of these scholarships will cover not just your foundation / pre-university studies but your degree as well.
#1. External scholarships

#2. Essential consideration points
Before you begin your application, here are some things you should consider.
a. When is the deadline?
Many of these scholarships will not stay open for long, so you'll have to move fast. The application period usually closes a couple of weeks after SPM results are out so be sure to apply as soon as possible.
To ensure a smoother and faster process, look at all the required documents and prepare them as you wait for your SPM results. Once the results are out, do one last check and start your application.
b. Is it applicable to your field of interest?
Some scholarships only cover certain fields of study, so make sure to do your research and avoid wasting time applying to scholarships irrelevant to your preferred programmes. This is especially relevant for scholarships offered by industry-specific companies such as PETRONAS and Shell.
c. Is it bonded?
You should also look into whether the scholarship is bonded or not. A bonded scholarship usually comes with a stipulation that you must work with the scholarship provider upon graduation for a set amount of time. While great for job security, this may be a dealbreaker if you prefer to keep your employment options open.
