What is the Student Assessment Centre (SAC)?

Shortlisted candidates for all JPA scholarships will be required to attend the Student Assessment Centre (SAC). The main purpose of the SAC is to ensure that JPA selects the best scholars for this programme.

You may check whether you are shortlisted for SAC from 2 June 2025, 9am onwards.

The SAC is scheduled for 10 – 12 June 2025 and will be held at various interview zones.

What is a JPA “Convertible Loan”?

All JPA 2025 scholarships, except for the Program Dermasiswa B40, are in the form of convertible loans (pinjaman boleh ubah). What this means is that the scholarship is essentially a loan that can be converted to a full or partial scholarship.

This year, the convertible loan will now be based on academic merit (i.e. Pinjaman Boleh Ubah Akademik) instead of service placement in the previous years.

Here’s how the new convertible loan model works:

Criteria Loan repayment (%)
If you achieve CGPA 3.75 – 4.00 without extension 5%
If you achieve CGPA 3.50 – 3.74 without extension 10%
If you achieve CGPA 3.00 – 3.49, without extension 15%
If you achieve above CGPA 3.00 with extension 20%
If you achieve below CGPA 3.00 or fail your degree 100%

If you serve as a public servant in the civil service upon graduation, you may also be exempt from paying back the balance of your loan
