Entry Requirements

  • STPM: Grade C in 2 relevant subjects
  • A Level: Grade D in 2 relevant subjects
  • UEC: Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
  • TAR UMT:
    • Foundation in Arts (Track B) 
    • Relevant Diploma 
  • Other IHL: Relevant Foundation/ Diploma accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:

  • STPM, A Level, UEC,Other IHL and TAR UMT must include:
    • SPM Credit/O Level Grade C/UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject† AND
    • SPM Credit/O Level Grade C/UEC Grade B in one relevant science subject^^ AND
    • SPM Pass/O Level Grade E (Pass)/UEC Grade C in English Language

The requirements of credit in a mathematics and a relevant science subject at SPM/ O Level/ UEC can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics and Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science/Applied Science subjects with an equivalent/ higher achievement.

†A Grade B and above in General Mathematics conducted by TAR UMT is accepted as fulfilling the Mathematics requirement for applicants who: have obtained a Pass in SPM (Grade D or Grade E), O Level (Grade D or Grade E), or UEC (Grade C) in the required Mathematics subject; or have failed the required Mathematics subject at SPM, O Level, or UEC.

^^ A Grade B and above in General Science conducted by TAR UMT is accepted as fulfilling the Science requirement for applicants who: have obtained a Pass in SPM (Grade D or Grade E), O Level (Grade D or Grade E), or UEC (Grade C) in the required Science subject; or have failed the required Science subject at SPM, O Level, or UEC.

Notes:

  • a) Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of their Bachelor Degree
  • b) TAR UMT Diploma will be accepted on credit transfer into Bachelor Degree programmes.
  • c) Equivalent qualifications or qualifications from other Institutions of Higher  Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • d)  Subject to the Ministry of Higher Education’s latest requirements.
