The QS World University Rankings for 2025 is out!
To no one’s surprise, Universiti Malaya (UM) is still the top dog among local universities. Coming in at #60 — a 5-spot increase from last year’s ranking — it remains the only Malaysian university to sit among the world’s top 100 universities.
The list also features international branch universities with campuses in Malaysia. Leading the charge is Australia’s Monash University, which climbed 5 spots to secure the #37 position, up from last year’s #42. Meanwhile, Taylor’s University continues to hold its place as the top Malaysian private university, ranking at #251.
This year’s ranking also records a number of impressive growths for other Malaysian universities as well. Aside from UM, 13 other universities have shown an increase in their rankings, with some universities such as INTI International University making a 40-spot jump.
