Course Highlights

This programme is designed to equip you with theoretical and practical knowledge in both the fundamentals of physics as well as its applications in modern technologies
Learn to understand and appreciate physics through a hands-on approach in a laboratory setting with state-of-the-art equipment

Entry Requirements

STPM: A minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects including Physics**
A Level: A minimum of Grade D in 2 subjects including Physics**
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including Physics**
SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects including Physics**
CPU: An average of 70% in 6 subjects including Physics*
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points) and obtained a minimum of 4 points in PhysicsHL**
TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)
- 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
- 2. At least CGPA of 2.50 or CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 with at least 2 years work experience in relevant field, subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval
- 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
- 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
UTAR Foundation in Science/Matriculation / Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field/Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements

Note: **Applicants without Physics may be admitted to the programme subject to Faculty's recommendation

STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English: Credit in English language at SPM level OR
O-Level English: Grade C OR
UEC English: Grade B OR
MUET Band: 3.5 OR
IELTS Band: 5.0 OR
TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
Cambridge English 154/100(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107 / HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent
Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
