Course Highlights

This programme will provide the best training for you to become capable of analysing, evaluating financial instruments and managing risks of investment quantitatively
Become familiar with the disciplines of probability theory, scientific computing and computational finance to provide models and derive relationships between fundamental variables such as asset prices, market movements and interest rates
You will be able to strengthen financial risk management and raw materials hedging in large multi-national corporations making you a future participant or regulator of the derivatives and commodity markets
Through this programme, you will have the opportunity to try your programming skills in an electronically automated trading system

Entry Requirements

STPM: A minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects
A Level: A minimum of Grade D in 2 subjects
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects
SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects
CPU: An average of 70% in 6 subjects
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)
TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM):
- 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
- 2. At least CGPA of 2.50 or CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 with at least 2 years work experience in relevant field, subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval
- 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
- 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
UTAR Foundation in Arts(Management and Accountancy Stream)/UTAR Foundation in Science/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field/Matriculation Certificate in the relevant field, Ministry of Education:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00
Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field: CGPA ≥ 2.50. If CGPA < 2.50 subject to an interview
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirementsl: Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent

Malaysian Applicants

STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English: Credit in English language at SPM level OR
O-Level English: Grade C OR
UEC English: Grade B OR
MUET Band: 3.5 OR
IELTS Band: 5.0 OR
TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
Cambridge English 154/100(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107 / HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent
Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
