About Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET)

Founded in 2002, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is a private university that’s wholly owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). UniKL specialises in technical education, equipping its graduates with strong technical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

UniKL has 13 branch institutes spread throughout the country, where each institute has its own specialisation. Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET), is the only Marine-based university situated in Lumut, Perak. There are other institute branches strategically located all over peninsular Malaysia – in Selangor, Malacca, Kedah, and Johor.

UniKL MIMET offers wide range programmes at the pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate level. It offer speacialises programmes in marine engineering technology.

Campus Location

UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (MIMET) is located at Bandar Teknologi Maritim, Jalan Pantai Remis, Lumut, Perak.

The distance between UniKL MIMET’s Campus to Lumut town is only 15-20 minutes drive. The famous vacation spot nearby is Pangkor Island which is about 15-minute drive from UniKL MIMET.

Town next to Lumut, there are various amenities, such as shopping malls, hypermarkets including AEON Seri Manjung and TESCO, and a wide range of eateries.
