Entry Requirements
- STPM/A Level: ABB in Biology, Chemistry, Maths or Physics
- International Baccalaureate: 36 points (including bonus points) AND attained a minimum score of 5 each in: HL Biology, HL Chemistry, HL Mathematics
- University Matriculation/Foundation in Science/Pre-Medical Course: CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) including 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics providing the course is not less than 1 year in the same accredited institution AND 5Bs each in: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, Physics and another subject in SPM/O Level or its equivalent
- UEC: 1 B3, 4 B4s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Advanced Mathematics
- Canadian High School Diploma (Year 12):
- Average of 85% in any 3 subjects with an individual score:
- 85% Biology
- 85% Chemistry
- 85% Mathematics or Physics AND
- 3 AP’s with a score of 4 each in:
- AP Biology
- AP Chemistry
- AP Mathematics or AP Physics
- Average of 85% in any 3 subjects with an individual score:
- Monash University Foundation Pre-University Programme (MUFY)/University of New South Wales (UNSW Foundation): Aggregate or Average of 90% or the equivalent of B in any 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- Western Australia Curriculum Council/HSC Sydney Australia/Trinity College Foundation Studies/Australian Universities Foundation Programme/South Australian Matriculation (SAM)/Victoria Certificate of Education Australia (Year 12)/Australian Matriculation: 93 ATAR provided the subjects include: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- Irish Leaving Certificate: 465 points with 1 H2, 2 H3's in 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- International Foundation Group (IFG) Medical Foundation Programme: Average of 80% overall with a score of 80% in the Biology and Chemistry-based modules with no other individual module score less than 75%.
- Indian Pre-University: Average of 90% in any 3 subjects with a score of 75% and above in each individual subject:
- Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- Obtain an Eligibility Certificate from National Medical Commission India.
- Pass the NEET Exam with a score of 70%
- National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3/New Zealand Bursary: Average of 90% in any 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- America High School Diploma: CGPA 3.50 (out of 4.0) with 3 Advanced Placements with a minimum score of 4 in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics
- National Senior Certificate (with Matriculation Endorsement): 766 in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics, with a score of 6 each in the other 4 individual modules.
- General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) Science stream 95% - Entry into RUMC Foundation in Science (FIS): CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0)
- Thai Matayom 6/Vietnam High School: Entry via Foundation in Science
- MSc, PhD in Science: CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) or above
- Diploma in Health Sciences: CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) including 3 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 1/2 years in the same accredited institution AND In SPM/O Level or its equivalent:
- 2Bs each in: Biology, Chemistry
- 3Cs each in: English, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, Physics
- Bachelor Degree in Health or Pure Science or Applied Sciences: CGPA 3.2 (out of 4.0) or Upper Second Class Honours (2: 1)
- Bachelor Degree in the Art or Humanities: CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) or First Class Honours
- Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE): I, I, II in:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics or Physics
Pre-requisite:
A PASS in SPM / O Level or equivalent with 5 B's each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and another subject at school level or its equivalent.
For STPM / A Level Candidates:
- The SPM / O Level requirement is not applicable to applicants with STPM / A Level qualifications.
- The SPM / O Level requirement is applicable to applicants with STPM / A Level qualification entering Undergraduate Medicine via Pre-Medical Foundation Year.
For Other International Qualifications:
- Equivalency documentation from applicant’s institution is required to confirm that the programme is equivalent to Cambridge A Level.
Applying to Malaysia’s Public Sector?
- A PASS in Bahasa Melayu at SPM is required for Housemanship application
Age of Applicant
- Any applicant must be of age (18 years old) before departure to Ireland for commencement of the Undergraduate Medicine programme.
- 1119 GCE-O (up till SPM 2020): minimum grade 'B'
- CEFR (from SPM 2021 onwards): minimum grade 'C1'
- 1st Language English: minimum grade 'B'
- IELTS**: Overall score of 6.5 with each component not less than 6.0
- PTE Academic**: Overall score of 63 with each component not less than 59
- TOEFL IBT**: Overall score of 90 with each component not less than 21
*English Proficiency Test is exempted only for international students from English-speaking countries.
*Must be less than two years validity at the time of admission.
