About RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC)

RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC), previously known as Penang Medical College (PMC), was first established in 1996. Established by two leading universities in Ireland – Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD), it is Malaysia’s first accredited private medical institution.

RUMC is the only Irish branch campus in Asia with over 400 years of excellence in medical education and offers Pre-Medical Foundation, Foundation in Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) programmes.

Listed as an Irish medical university, RUMC graduates are conferred with a medical degree from the National University of Ireland (NUI) which is accredited by the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC). It is recognised by major international organisations such as the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), opening doors to practise medicine in countless countries across the globe including the USA, the UK, Ireland, and Canada, among others.
