  • Other qualifications recognised by Monash:
    • If completed maths and/or science subjects in the relevant discipline at the required grade level, it is assumed that applicants have knowledge equivalent to the Australian Year 12 (VCE equivalent) prerequisite subject required for chosen course. It is strongly recommended to check if applicants  have covered the assumed knowledge required for course by completing the Assumed Knowledge Skills Analysis
    • This can be completed once student has accepted Monash offer and has set up student account before strating their course

Note: These guidelines do not apply to the Bachelor of Medical Science or Doctor of Medicine

Must meet the minimum English language requirements except for Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine which requires higher English requirement by demonstrating English language proficiency through one of the following:

• Studying English at Year 12 or equivalent
  • Students must complete an English subject that is equivalent to units 3 and 4 of VCE English and also meet the required prerequisite score for the Monash University course they have applied for. The equivalent English subject must be taken within 3 years prior to the course commencement date (other time limitation periods may apply)
• Studying at an institution where English is the language of instruction
  • English must be the language of instruction, communication and assessment for all aspect of study for the whole of the educational institution by satisfactorily completing a minimum of 24 Monash credit points (one semester of full-time study) * of an approved post-secondary qualification or above (AQF Level 5 or above) which must be taken within three years prior to the course commencement date or have fully completed one of the following qualifications:
    • An Australian VET diploma level (or equivalent) which must be taken within three years prior to the Monash course commencement date; OR
    • An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) which must be completed and taken within five years prior to the Monash course commencement date
    • Documentary evidence in the form of an official letter is required from the institution at which the study was undertaken. This document must be written and signed by the institution’s Registrar (or other authorised person) of the education institution to the satisfaction of the Academic Board.
• English Proficiency Tests (a time limit of 3 years is applicable from the date the English language measure was completed until the course commencement date).
