Entry Requirements
- A Level/STPM: Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics. (Grade C can only be in either Physics or Mathematics)
- AIMST Foundation in Science/Matriculation/Foundation in Science/Pre-medical course (course is not less than 1 year in the same accredited institution): CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
- UEC: B4 each in 5 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics
- UNSW Foundation/MUFY/Western Australia Curriculum Council/HSC Sydney Australia/Trinity College Foundation Studies/Australian Universities Foundation Programmes/South Australian Matriculation/Victorian Certificate of Education, Australia Year 12/Ausmat:
- Aggregate or average of 80% or the equivalent of B in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics OR
- 80% ATAR provided the subjects include Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
- National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3/New Zealand Bursary: Average of 80% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- CPU/CIMP/Canadian Grade 12/13 /Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade 12: Average of 80% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Indian Pre-University: Average of 70% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- International Baccalaureate (IB): 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level and attained a minimum score of 4 each in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
- Diploma in Health Sciences (course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 1/2 years in the same accredited institution): CGPA ≥ 3.5 (out of 4) AND
At SPM/O-Level or its equivalent, minimum 2 Bs in any 2 subjects, ie. Biology, and/or Chemistry and/or Physics and Credits in 3 subjects, ie.
English and Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and another subject - Degree in Sciences/Life Sciences: CGPA ≥ 3.0 (out of 4)
- Degree in Medical Sciences: CGPA 3.3 (out of 4) 5-year undergraduate programme. CGPA 3.5 (out of 4) 4-year undergraduate programme.
Note: The candidate can be exempted for the first year (direct entry into second year) and can also be given exemption for other relevant courses (e g. Basic Medical Science & General Surgery and General Medicine) - Degree in the Arts or Humanities: CGPA ≥ 3.5 (out of 4) 5-year undergraduate dental programme OR CGPA 4.0 (out of 4) 4-year undergraduate programme
AND 3 Cs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics at SPM or it's equivalent OR An accredited bridging course
Prerequisites
- SPM: 5 Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject (except Art/KSI)
- O-Levels: 5 Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject (except Art/KSI)
- UEC: B4 in 4 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics (or Mathematics or Additional Mathematics) and another subject
Notes
- Applicants shall be required to pass an aptitude test and/or an interview and/or a university entrance examination.
- Malaysian citizens seeking employment in the public sector must fulfil the criteria set by the Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA).
- A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into a dental programme:
- found guilty of offence(s) affecting the human body;
- recent or serious dishonesty e.g., cheating at examinations, falsification of documents, plagiarism;
- serious physical or mental disorder;
- serious communicable disease(s)
- Prior to admission, all short-listed applicants are required to undergo a medical checkup to ensure they are free from communicable diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis; and to undergo immunisation against Hepatitis B.
