Times Higher Education has released its World University Rankings for the year 2022. Comparing over 1,600 institutions across 99 countries from all over the globe, this year’s ranking is its biggest and most diverse one yet.
Unsurprisingly, Oxford University (UK) takes the top spot once again for the sixth consecutive year. Meanwhile, US universities California Institute of Technology and Harvard University share the second spot, taking over from last year’s Stanford University.
But what about Malaysian universities?
This year, a total of 9 universities made it to the top 1,000 with Universiti Malaya (UM) leading the way in the 301-350 range. Find out more with the infographic below.

Congratulations to all the universities that made it on the list. Competing with over 1,600 other universities globally is no easy feat.
Of course it’s important to remember that university rankings, albeit an important tool for comparison, are not everything. Everyone has different needs and demands and finding the perfect university depends on how you balance it all out.
