About University of Southampton Malaysia

The University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) is a private university in Malaysia and a branch campus of the University of Southampton, UK, a research-led university and a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group in the UK. UoSM was first established in October 2012 as part of the EduCity development and relocated to a brand new 150,000-square-foot campus at Eco Galleria, Iskandar Puteri, Johor in October 2021. 

UoSM offers a range of programmes at the foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is well-known for its engineering programmes where it offers MEng in Aeronautics and Astronautics, MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and MEng in Mechanical Engineering. These engineering programmes offer you a chance to gain a unique 'Southampton' education where you will study for 2 years in Malaysia and then complete your final 2 years in the UK. UoSM also offers degrees in accounting, economics, finance, marketing and computer science. All of these programmes have a transfer option to the UK campus after the first or second year of study.

The curriculum at UoSM is exactly the same as the UK campus, allowing you to gain quality UK education at an affordable price. In addition, many of UoSM's programmes enable you to gain professional accreditation in both the UK and Malaysia.

Campus Location

UoSM is located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, which is 15 minutes from the Second Link Bridge into Singapore and 20 minutes from Johor Bahru city centre. 

Its new multi-storey building at Eco Galleria is 150,000 sqft in size and equipped with first-class teaching and research facilities including a new library with an attached computer suite, four Electrical and Electronics Labs, an Aerospace Lab (equipped with a wind tunnel), a Design Studio, Experimental Labs and a 12-terminal Bloomberg Suite. It also features a range of open learning spaces.

The campus is also part of a larger complex that offers a wide range of restaurants, cafes, shops and medical facilities. At this fully equipped campus, you will also have access to a multi-varsity sports centre and stadium next door.
