• CPU:
  • 1. Average of 70% in 6 subjects
  • 2. Credit in 1 Science subject at SPM level / equivalent**
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma:
  • 1. Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points) and obtained a minimum of 4 points in any 2 subjects
  • 2. Credit in 1 Science subject at SPM level / equivalent**
• TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)
  • 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
  • 2. At least CGPA of 2.50 OR CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 with at least 2 years working experience in relevant field subject to Senate/ Academic Board’s approval
  • 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and may be required to undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
  • 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
• UTAR Foundation,Matriculation/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field,Diploma (Level 4, MQF):
  • 1. Minimum CGPA of 2.00
  • 2. Credit in 1 Science subject at SPM level / equivalent**
• Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government:
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.00

Notes:

• **The credit requirement can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science subjects with an equivalent/ higher achievement
• Applicants without a credit in SPM Science/equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend and pass the special Enhancement Course as a prerequisite to the related courses before joining the degree programme

Malaysian applicants with STPM/UEC/qualifications not conducted fully in English must have a

• SPM: Credit in English language OR
• O-Level: Grade C in English OR
• UEC: Grade B in English OR
• MUET: Band 3.5 OR
• IELTS: Band 5.0 OR
• TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
• Cambridge English 154/100(OET)/ELS CIEP Level 107/HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
• Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
