Course Highlights

Recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT)
Be introduced to the current technologies, skills and industry best practices at an early stage and apply them in the form of assignments and final year projects which include building information modelling, surveying, value engineering, project management and contract administration
Your student activities will be well supported by the programme-based "Built Environment Society" which annually organises "Green Card" seminars, a safety and health certification by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) which will prepare you for an Industrial training stint
UTAR's close collaboration with the University of Kitakyushu and Shibaura Institute of Technology allows for research collaborations and student exchange activities, so you will be able to visit each other's institutions, exchange ideas and knowledge, and gain a deeper understanding of each other's culture

Entry Requirements

STPM:
- 1. A minimum of Grade C in any 2 subjects
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
A Level:
- 1. A minimum of Grade D in in any 2 subjects
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
UEC:
- 1. Grade B in any 5 subjects
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
SAM:
- 1. Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in any 2 subjects
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
CPU:
- 1. An average of 70% in any 6 subjects
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma:
- 1. Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)
- 2. Passes in Mathematics, English and any one subject related to science/technical/vocational at SPM level / equivalent
UTAR Foundation,Matriculation/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00
Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.50 (Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 must have at least one year of relevant working experience)
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements

English Requirements

Malaysian applicants with STPM/UEC/qualifications not conducted fully in English must have a

SPM: Credit in English language OR
O-Level: Grade C in English OR
UEC: Grade B in English OR
MUET: Band 3.5 OR
IELTS: Band 5.0 OR
TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
Cambridge English 154/100(OET)/ELS CIEP Level 107/HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
