Course Highlights

Accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry United Kingdom since 2013 and recognised by Institute Kimia Malaysia (IKM), allowing you to apply and join as a member of IKM upon graduation
This programme is designed to increase your theoretical knowledge and application of chemistry, and to help you in developing various practical skills through experimental and instrumental techniques
You will cover the traditional sub-disciplines of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry, as well as biochemistry
Modern interdisciplinary topics such as environmental chemistry, green chemistry, food chemistry, polymer chemistry and medicinal chemistry will be studied

Entry Requirements

STPM: A minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in 2 Science subjects
A-Level: A minimum of Grade D in 2 Science subjects
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects
SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 Science subjects
CPU: An average of 70% in 6 subjects
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)
TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)
- 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
- 2. At least CGPA of 2.50 OR CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 with at least 2 years working experience in relevant field subject to Senate/ Academic Board’s approval
- 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and may be required to undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
- 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
UTAR Foundation in Science,Matriculation / Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field,Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00

Cambridge English 154/100(OET)/ELS CIEP Level 107/HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
