Entry Requirements

  • STPM: A minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • STAM: A minimum grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • A Level: A minimum of Grade D in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • CPU: Average of 70% in any 6 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level / equivalent
  • Diploma (Level 4, MQF):
    • In Computing (Level 4, MQF) / equivalent: Minimum CGPA of 2.50.
      Note: Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 may be admitted subject to a thorough internal evaluation process.
    • In Non-Computing (Level 4, MQF): Minimum CGPA of 2.75 AND credit in
      • Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent, OR
      • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent are required to take and pass the Mathematics
        Enhancement Course (MEC) as a pre-requisite before they could proceed to join this programme
    • Note: Candidates with CGPA below 2.75 but above 2.50 may be admitted subject to a thorough internal evaluation process
  • DKM / DVM / DLKM:
    • Must be fully accredited by MQA.
    • DKM/DLKM/DVM in Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval.
    • Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and may be required to undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure.
    • Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect.
  • Foundation from UTAR / Matriculation / Foundation from other institutions of Higher Learning: Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and MUST have a credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government: MUST have a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level/equivalent

Notes: 

  • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM Level/equivalent are required to take and pass the Mathematics Enhancement Course (MEC) as a pre-requisite before they could join this programme.
  • Candidates from Foundation/Matriculation/other equivalent qualification can be exempted from taking MEC if their admission qualification contains Mathematics subject(s) which is higher than the SPM Mathematics.

Malaysian applicants with STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English must have:

  • A Credit in English language at SPM level
  • Grade C in O-Level English
  • Grade B in UEC English
  • MUET Band 3
  • IELTS Band 5.0
  • TOEFL 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials)
  • PTE 47
  • Cambridge English 154/100(OET)
  • ELS CIEP Level 107 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent).
  • Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the English Enhancement Programme and pass at the English Levels 7 & 8 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme.

International applicants must have:

  • A minimum of IELTS Band 5.0
  • MUET Band 3
  • TOEFL 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials)
  • PTE 47
  • Cambridge English 154/100(OET)
  • ELS CIEP Level 107
  • OR equivalent (NOT applicable for entry qualifications conducted fully in English or students from countries with English as official language BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
