- This programme is designed to meet the rapidly changing needs and challenges of the insurance and investment-related industries by aligning its syllabi with the professional examination requirements
- Develop strong foundations in probability, financial mathematics, risk modelling and statistical analysis, while gaining exposure to key topics required for professional actuarial examinations
- Opportunity for exemption of CS1 (Actuarial Statistics I), CB1 (Business Finance), CB2 (Business Economics) and CM1 (Actuarial Mathematics I) from the (IFoA)
Entry Requirements
- STPM: A minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects
- A Level: A minimum of Grade D in 2 subjects
- UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects
- SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects
- CPU: An average of 70% in 6 subjects
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)
- TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM):
- 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
- 2. At least CGPA of 2.50 or CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 with at least 2 years work experience in relevant field, subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval
- 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
- 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
- UTAR Foundation in Arts(Management and Accountancy Stream)/UTAR Foundation in Science/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field/Matriculation Certificate in the relevant field, Ministry of Education:
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00
- Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in the relevant field: CGPA ≥ 2.50. If CGPA < 2.50 subject to an interview
- Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements:
- Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent
Malaysian Applicants
- STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English: Credit in English language at SPM level OR
- O-Level English: Grade C OR
- UEC English: Grade B OR
- MUET Band: 3.5 OR
- IELTS Band: 5.0 OR
- TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
- Cambridge English 154/100(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107 / HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent
- Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
