  • 1. Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)

• TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM):
  • 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
  • 2. A minimum CGPA of 2.50 OR CGPA 2.00 with at least 2 years working experience in relevant field, subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval
  • 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
  • 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect (AND pass in SPM Bahasa Cina / equivalent***)
• UTAR Foundation/Matriculation or Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning or equivalent/Diploma (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent:
  • 1. Minimum CGPA of 2.00
  • 2. Credit in English at SPM level/equivalent** (NOT applicable for qualifications conducted fully in English language BUT must have a pass in English at SPM level / equivalent)
  • 3. Pass in Bahasa Cina at SPM level/equivalent***
• Diploma in Media and Communication (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent:
  • 1. Minimum CGPA of 2.00
  • 2. Pass in Bahasa Cina at SPM level / equivalent***
• Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements:
  • 1. Credit in English at SPM level / equivalent** (NOT applicable for qualifications conducted fully in English language BUT must have a pass in English at SPM level / equivalent)
  • 2. Pass in Bahasa Cina at SPM level / equivalent***

Notes:

• ***The pass requirement of Bahasa Cina at SPM level can be waived should the qualifications contain Chinese Language subject with an equivalent / higher achievement OR from one of the following "Recognised Test on Chinese Proficiency":
  • China’s New Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (New HSK)/ New Chinese Proficiency Test (since 2010) - Level 4
  • Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL)(since 2013) - Level 4
• **The credit requirement for English at SPM level can be waived should the admission qualifications contain English subject(s) equivalent / higher than the English offered at SPM level
• Applicants without a pass in SPM Bahasa Cina may apply for the programme but will have to undergo a language proficiency interview and a written test. The purpose of the interview is to gauge a candidate's Chinese language proficiency in terms of his/her listening, understanding and articulation. The writing assessment is designed to evaluate the candidate's Chinese language writing proficiency.

Malaysian Applicants

• STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English: Credit in English language at SPM level OR
• O-Level English: Grade C OR
• UEC English: Grade B OR
• MUET Band: 3.5 OR
• IELTS Band: 5.0 OR
• TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
• Cambridge English: 154/100(OET)/ ELS CIEP Level 107/ HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
• Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
