- STPM:
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.00
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects

- Obtain a minimum grade of Jayyid Jiddan
- Obtain a minimum of grade Jayyid Jiddan in TWO (2) subjects
- Diploma/Equivalent:
- Malaysian citizen
- Possess a Diploma in the field of Arabic Language / Islamic Studies recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by the Senate of the University of Malaya with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects at the Diploma level
- Basic Teaching Diploma:
- Malaysian citizen
- Possess a Basic Teaching Diploma from the Ministry of Education Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects at the Diploma level
- Pass in the Basic Management Certificate, Ministry of Education Malaysia
- Has teaching experience in the field of Arabic Language or has served in a job involving Arabic language matters (teaching, translation, language planning, terminology management, editing, etc.) for no less than three (3) years
- UM SATU Foundation:
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.00
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects
- GCE A-Level:
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain a recognized GCE A-Level qualification
- Obtain a minimum of grade B in TWO (2) subjects
- STPM (not the current year):
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.00
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects
- STAM (not the current year):
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtained at least a Jayyid Jiddan grade
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects
- IPTS:
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.00
- Obtain a minimum of grade B- in TWO (2) subjects
Additional Requirement:
- Obtained at least a Grade C in ONE (1) subject at the SPM level: Arabic Language, Advanced Arabic Language, Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah Al-Mu'asirah, Arabic Language Turath
- Obtain a minimum of Band 2.0 in MUET for examinations starting from Session 1 of the year 2021, or Band 2.0 for examinations up to the year 2020, according to the validity period on the date of application
- However, applicants without MUET but with the following results may be considered for conditional admission, provided they fulfill the MUET requirement within ONE (1) academic session:
- Obtain at least Band 4 (Academic) in IELTS or
- Obtain a minimum score of 41 in TOEFL iBT (Centre-based)
