Course Structure

The Bachelor of Project Management (Honours) programme covers the core disciplinary courses which includes Project Management, Integrated Project Management, Project Estimation and Budgeting, Project Scheduling and Control, Project Quality Management, Project Procurement, Project Risk management and Sustainability and Green Project Management.

Project management is a professional discipline, with its own body of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to successfully achieve specific goals and objectives within a specified time and constraints. It involves managing a project from inception to completion through the five main phases which includes:

  • Initiation
  • Planning
  • Execution
  • Monitoring
  • Controlling
  • Closing of the project

The Bachelor of Project Management programme adopts a generic approach to project management and is applicable to any project in a variety of industries such as construction, engineering, education, health, commerce, information technology, research, and development. Upon completion of the programme, the students will be able to work in the capacity of Coordinators and Leads, Executives, Officers, and Managers within the industry. The Project Management Institute (PMI) predicted that Project Management will be the fastest growing occupation and there is a growing demand for Project Executives and Managers all over the world.

Entry Requirements

Local Student

  • Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Pass with at least Grade C (GP 2.00) in any TWO subjects*; OR
  • Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM): Pass with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
  • Matriculation or Foundation: Pass with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • A Diploma (Level 4, MQF): Pass with at least CGPA of 2.00, OR
  • An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF): Pass with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM): Subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval**; or
  • A Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM): Subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval**; OR Note for (vi) & (vii): The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme.
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government

Notes:
* Required a pass in Mathematics and English at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualifications with conditions as below:

  • Can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with an equivalent / higher achievement.
  • Malaysian students using English as the medium of instruction in their previous study or with at least Band 2 in MUET or equivalent can be exempted from a pass in English requirement.
  • Those without a pass in Mathematics and / or English at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass the Mathematics and English enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English.

** For Public Universities: Refer to Surat JPT.S (BPKP) 2000/400/04/01 Jld.5 (53), 20th November, 2019 – Pindaan syarat kelayakan minimum (Syarat am) Diploma TVET (DKM, DLKM, DVM) sebagai syarat kelayakan masuk ke program Ijazah Sarjana Muda di Unversiti Awam (UA).
