Entry Requirements
Entry level 1: Up to 96 points to complete (Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time)
- An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent), not necessarily in IT, with a minimum WAM 60
Entry level 2: Up to 72 points to complete (Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time)
- An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent in a cognate discipline relating to IT, or an engineering or science degree with a substantial IT component including Python programming, algorithms, databases, computer architecture, operating systems and networks, and mathematics (including calculus, linear algebra and probability and statistics), with a minimum WAM 60 or equivalent
Pathway assessment
- The pathway to Entry Level 1 or Entry Level 2 is subject to an internal assessment of the applicant's qualification to conform to the MQA Program Standards for Computing
Note:
- Credit exemption allows graduation in 1.5 years with a previous IT-related qualification, while applicants without an IT background complete foundation units at no additional cost
Minimum score for all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework courses
- IELTS (Academic)/IELTS One Skill Retake (Academic)/IELTS Online: overall score 6.5 with Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0
- TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Paper Edition from 21 January 2026: total score 4 with Listening 3, Reading 3.5, Writing 4.5 and Speaking 3.5
- TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Paper Edition prior to 21 January 2026: total score 79 with Listening 12, Reading 13, Writing 21 and Speaking 18
- TOEFL Essentials: total score 8 with Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 9 and Speaking 7
- PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English): overall score 58 with Listening 50, Reading 50, Writing 50 and Speaking 50
- C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: overall score 176 with Listening 169, Reading 169, Writing 169 and Speaking 169

Other ways to demonstrate English proficiency
