About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement intern to join our Procurement team based in Perai, Penang. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing, supplier management, and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment. As a Procurement Intern, you will work closely with experienced procurement professionals and gain practical exposure to sourcing activities, supplier coordination, inventory management, procurement documentation, and cost analysis. This role is ideal for candidates looking to develop a strong foundation in procurement and supply chain management.
Key Accountabilities
Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and procurement-related documentation.
Support supplier communication and coordinate with vendors regarding quotations, deliveries, and order status.
Maintain and update procurement databases, inventory records, and supplier information.
Assist in the identification and evaluation of potential suppliers and vendors.
Support the procurement team in cost analysis and price comparison activities.
Help to track deliveries and monitor order status with suppliers.
Assist in maintaining procurement records, contracts, and filing systems.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Provide general administrative support to the Procurement team as required.
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Mandarin/Chinese language skills will be an added advantage to communicate with suppliers.
Available for a minimum internship duration of 3 months.
