Who Can Apply?

SPM and IGCSE Students

The scholarship is exclusively for students who are sitting for SPM Dec 2025 and IGCSE June 2026.

Minimum 3As in Trial Exams

Apply using your trial results (minimum 3As). Strong co-curricular achievements can further strengthen your application.

What Is the Scholarship Amount?

Get up to RM16,200 for Foundation in Science and up to RM20,000 for Foundation in Arts.

How to Apply?

Step #2: Upload your achievements

Attach proof of your school achievements (e.g. positions, awards, leadership roles) to strengthen your application.

Step #3: Get scholarship results

IMU will email your scholarship outcome within 2 weeks after the closing date.

There are two application deadlines, depending on when you complete your exams.

SPM 2025 (Batch 08)

Application closes 11 Jan 2026.

IGCSE Jun 2026

Application closes 3 May 2026.

    The scholarship isn’t guaranteed, as all submissions are evaluated by IMU. You’ll receive the outcome by email about two weeks after the closing date.

    You don’t need to pay anything to apply. If you’re awarded the scholarship, a non-refundable RM550 confirmation payment is required to secure it. When you accept the offer at IMU, this RM550 will be deducted from your Semester 1 fees.

    You can secure a scholarship based on your trial/forecast results. If your actual results are higher, you will be awarded a higher amount based on the number of As obtained. If it is lower, you will maintain the initial amount you were offered with your trail/forecast results.

    No, you are not permitted to hold more than one scholarship at any time. Acceptance of any additional scholarship will result in the automatic termination of the IMU award

    Yes, both Malaysia and International students are eligible to apply.

    If you are have missed the IMU Rising Star Scholarship deadline, you will still be considered for the regular scholarship offerings. This means you still have a chance to receive financial support for your studies, even if you miss out on the special award. Speak to our education advisors for guidance.
