TAR UMT Release of The Story of TARCians Docudrama

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is making an impact with the release of The Story of TARCians, a special docudrama that has been in production since 2023. Set to premiere in Dec 2024, the film aims to capture TAR UMT’s legacy and their contribution to the growth of Malaysia.

The soft launch for The Story of TARCians took place on 19 September 2024, where the attendees previewed the film and its official soundtrack, titled Laman Song, produced by TAR UMT’s alumni band, “YiWanLingYi 一万零一”, comprised of Joe, Vong and Chee Haw. the soundtrack was performed live at the event alongside the TAR UMT Choir, marking a heartfelt tribute to the university and its community.

As part of the film’s mission to share the institution’s legacy, TAR UMT’s Board of Governors Chairman, Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy emphasised the significance of sharing this story with the entire nation. He stated, “The Story of TARCians is ultimately one of the important stories of nation-building for our beloved country. This is why we are aiming for the film to be shown in cinemas nationwide, so Malaysians can also watch and appreciate the story of TARCians.”

The docudrama will be screened in nationwide cinemas from 5–7 December 2024, offering TARCians and the general public an opportunity to delve into TAR UMT’s rich history and celebrate its remarkable heritage.

The release of The Story of TARCians is more than just a film premiere, it celebrates TAR UMT’s history, values and contributions to Malaysia’s educational landscape. Through this project, TAR UMT showcases the impact that their students, alumni and faculty have had on the country, creating a timeless story that will soon be shared with audiences nationwide.
