Did you know that an award-winning internationally-acclaimed author was born and raised in the quiet town of Batu Gajah, Perak? 

Well, that person is Preeta Samarasan, a Malaysian writer whose debut novel Evening Is the Whole Day was a finalist for the 2009 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and on the longlist for the Orange Prize for Fiction, one of the UK’s most prestigious literary prizes.

Nottingham Malaysia is holding a literary reading and Q&A session with Samarasan this 2 November 2022 at its campus in Semenyih, Selangor.
