If you're passionate about AI and have a knack for creative solutions, the Monash AI Cup Challenge 2024 is your chance to showcase your talent and drive meaningful change.
Join this exciting competition where you’ll work in teams of 2-3 members to tackle a pressing global issue aligned with a selected Sustainable Development Goal. You will brainstorm, storyboard and produce a compelling poster and video showcasing your concept with AI as the core of your solution. Following this, you’ll develop a working prototype to present before a panel of expert judges.
The stakes are high, with cash prizes and the prestigious Young AI Challenger Scholarship — valued at up to RM30,000 — awaiting the winners. Don’t miss this chance to explore innovative AI tools and technologies, gain mentorship from seasoned professionals and raise awareness about global issues.
What you need to know
The Monash AI Cup Challenge 2024 is open to all students from Form 4 or Year 10 onwards. You will need to form a team with 2-3 members, or you can also enter the competition individually.
The first qualifying round of the competition involves designing a poster and creating a video based on a theme inspired by a selected Sustainable Development Goal. To guide you through this process, you’ll be paired with a mentor who will provide valuable insights and support. Prizes from the first round include the Most Creative Video Award and the Most Popular Award, each with a cash prize of RM500. The 10 most outstanding teams will advance to the next stage of the competition.
In the final round, finalists will be required to develop a prototype based on the poster or storyboard vision and present the prototype to a panel of judges. The winning team will receive a cash prize of RM5,000, a Monash AI Challenge Cup Trophy and the Young AI Challenger Scholarship worth RM30,000 for each member of the team. The 1st and 2nd runner-ups will receive RM3,000 and RM1,000 cash prizes respectively.
