Talented Heriot-Watt Student Shares Her Experience of the Leaders in Innovation Fellowship Programme
The bright and talented HWUM student, Nurul Husna Mohd Yusoff, shares her experience of the two-week Leaders in Innovation Fellowship programme in London.

What were you doing at the beginning of 2019? Perhaps you were planning out your year, dreaming of all the amazing things you would accomplish.
The bright and talented Heriot-Watt University Malaysia student Nurul Husna Mohd Yusoff, lived out one of her dreams after being selected to participate in the Royal Academy of Engineering's Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) programme in London. The 21-year-old Chemical Engineering student was ecstatic about being selected, as only the best entrepreneurial engineers from around the world have the chance to join.
During the two-week programme, participants gained invaluable networking opportunities and were mentored on how to improve their skills and create a good business proposition for their innovation. According to Husna, she gained a deeper understanding of the true meaning of innovation as well as a wider network of fellow innovators and engineering entrepreneurs.
“I was very happy to be part of the LIF family!” she revealed. “It was definitely an eye-opening experience for me as a student, and I’m glad to have met the enthusiastic and passionate participants, all of whom were keen to gain knowledge and make an impact on society.
The Provost and Chief Executive Officer of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi, was also visibly proud of Husna's stellar achievement.
“This was an exceptional experience for Husna as well as a proud moment for the university. At Heriot-Watt, we are passionate about encouraging more women to consider engineering as a career option; Husna has worn the hat as one of our university’s ambassadors for this global agenda well.”
