Epsom College Malaysia World Golf Championship 2025

ECM Golf Academy, the high-performance golf programme at Epsom College Malaysia, made waves on the international stage with a standout performance at the World Schools Golf Championship 2025 in Scotland.

Held from 14 to 17 September 2025 across Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, The Musselburgh Golf Club and Fairmont St Andrews, the championship welcomed junior golfers from 24 schools across 7 countries. Competing against over 100 elite junior players from around the globe, three of Epsom’s student-athletes delivered impressive podium finishes.

Fifteen-year-old Danish D. from Sabah stole the spotlight and was crowned Player of the Tournament and Overall Champion with a remarkable 69-70-74 performance. His teammate Adrianna S., also aged 15 and from Negeri Sembilan, finished as Runner-Up in the girls’ category, continuing her rapid rise as one of Malaysia’s most promising young golfers. Rounding out the trio was 14-year-old Afham O. from Kelantan, who secured Third Place in the Junior Boys’ category and is already ranked among Asia’s top 10 golfers in his age group.

“These results reflect months of disciplined, data-driven preparation and the students’ resilience under pressure,” said Travis van Dijk, Head Coach of ECM Golf Academy. “Danish, Adrianna and Afham executed with maturity beyond their years, precise course management, excellent short-game touch and the composure you need in international fields.”

“The achievements of Danish, Adrianna and Afham epitomise not only the calibre of coaching and facilities available at Epsom, but also the values we hold dear - ambition with purpose, academic and sporting excellence and a culture of genuine care,” said Mrs Avis Parker, Head of School at Epsom College Malaysia. “Their success is a fine example of holistic education in action, where the pursuit of distinction on the course is matched by character, resilience and intellectual growth in the classroom. It is a privilege to witness our young people excelling with such distinction on the international stage.”

The ECM Golf Academy is quickly establishing itself as a serious player in the world of junior golf. Launched in June 2023, the academy offers a unique combination of elite golf training and world-class academics on Epsom College Malaysia’s 50-acre campus. The golf complex itself spans 5 acres and includes a 30-bay driving range, indoor and outdoor teaching studios, short-game facilities and cutting-edge swing analysis tools like TrackMan — all just a stone’s throw away from classrooms and boarding houses.

This integrated setup allows student-athletes to train daily without compromising their academic journey. With coaching led by PGA-certified professionals, Epsom focuses on all-around holistic development which includes —technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects. Together with backing from sponsors like Mizuno and travel support through a partnership with AirAsia, ECM Golf Academy is clearly building momentum.

Looking ahead, the academy is gearing up to host the ASEAN Junior Championship 2025 from 22 to 25 November.
