Dasein 30th Anniversary Celebration 2025

Dasein Academy of Art is having their 30th Anniversary Celebration this 4 October 2025, and you won’t want to miss it!

Join in on a series of insightful talk sessions led by Dasein alumni, which include Jayee Lim (founder of Monkiddo), YouTubers and content creators DISSY, Radio Woon (founder of LALA COMPANY), and many more. 

There will also be creative workshops that are sure to inspire your creative side, such as an interactive paint-by-number mural and a community-wide canvas exchange. You can also experience the historical printing process of cyanotype, make your own DIY charm keychain and personalise your own 3D printed mini-figure. Plus, bring your own laptop and pen tablet to participate in guided workshops that walk you through concept art development and how to create production-ready artworks, led by experts Joseph Ho from Passion Republic and Tee Fu Yuan from Blizzard Entertainment.

INSIDE 30: Community Interactive Paint-by-Number Mural
Be part of a collective artwork! Grab a brush and paint a section of the giant paint-by-number mural celebrating Dasein’s 30 years of creativity. Open to everyone — no registration needed.
10am – 4.30pm STU Corridor (Level 3)
Canvas Exchange - Past & Future!
Express canvas exchange! Step into a creative dialogue where you can exchange ideas and images on canvas, reflecting on the past while imagining the future. Each turn takes just 5–10 minutes, so everyone gets a chance to join and leave their mark.
10am – 5pm PM Room (Level 3)
Comel-Comel Charm
Relive childhood memories by creating your own charm keychain! A fun and light-hearted DIY workshop suitable for all ages. Walk in, craft your charm and take home a piece of your playful imagination.
10am – 5pm CR2 and CR3 (Level 3)
Blue Shadows: Portraits in Cyanotype
Discover the magic of cyanotype, a historical photographic printing process that creates beautiful blue-toned images. You will use your own portraits (submitted in advance or taken on-site) to create a one-of-a-kind artwork. Guided step by step — no prior experience needed!

Print. Paint. Play!
This hands-on workshop introduces the exciting world of 3D design and printing. You will learn the basics of 3D modeling, understand how 3D printing works and experience the entire journey of bringing a digital model into the physical world. The session will includes a creative coloring activity, allowing you to personalize and decorate your own 3D printed mini-figure!

From Spark to Structure: Developing Strong Concepts and Ideas by Joseph Ho, Passion Republic
This workshop guides you through early concept art development, gathering references, building visual libraries and structuring ideas. You must bring your own laptop and pen tablet to participate.
1pm – 3pm CR12 (Level 3)
From Reference to Reality: Visual Execution for Illustration by Tee Fu Yuan, Blizzard Entertainment
Transform references into polished, production-ready artworks. This workshop focuses on visual storytelling, composition and painting techniques essential for production. You must bring your own laptop and pen tablet to participate.
