Ever wondered what it’s like to stand in the middle of a high-stakes courtroom? Curious to know how laws are debated and formed in a parliamentary system?

If you’ve ever pictured yourself in the legal world but aren’t sure if the reality matches the dream, here’s your chance to find out!

This 23 May 2026, experience being a lawyer firsthand at the Junior Lawyers Workshop, brought to you by Advance Tertiary College (ATC) and EduAdvisor. A half-day experience unlike any other, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a series of interactive and hands-on activities so you can see for yourself what being a lawyer is all about.

Your journey begins in the parliament with the Parliamentary Debate workshop. Here, you’ll learn the basics of parliamentary procedures before participating in a simulated parliamentary debate session where you’ll assume the role of members of the government and opposition. You’ll argue in favour or against the motion, learn how to respond to rebuttals and understand how different perspectives can shape law-making.

After that, you’ll move to the courtroom with the Criminal Law Mock Trial workshop, where you’ll take on the role of prosecutors and defence lawyers in a mock trial. If you’ve never done anything like this before, don’t worry! There will be an introductory briefing covering the basics before you prepare your arguments and assume your role.

Alongside these hands-on activities, you’ll also get the chance to connect with ATC and tour their campus. Education advisors will also be available for one-on-one counselling sessions where you can learn more about ATC’s law programmes and apply on the spot.

As a participant, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Participation to mark your experience!

The workshop is free to attend but seats are limited. So, make sure to register early to secure your seat.
