In a remarkable feat of achievement, students from Advance Tertiary College (ATC) have emerged as Champions in the recent Kuala Lumpur Bar – Lincoln’s Inn Alumni Association Of Malaysia Moot Court Competition 2023.

Held annually since 2019, this prestigious Moot Competition is aimed at promoting excellence in both oral and written advocacy amongst law students, pupil-in-chambers and junior practitioners. Offering participants a unique, real-world courtroom experience, each session replicates an authentic courtroom setting and is presided over by a distinguished panel of judges comprising judiciary members and legal practitioners. Following each session, participants were given constructive feedback aimed at enhancing their oral and written advocacy skills.

The competition saw an impressive display of legal acumen by 5 ATC students, which were Lavannya Nair Lim, Ai Rin, Loong Gene Shene, Rachel Tan Wen Yi and Lydia Lee Chee Ching. Under the guidance of their coaches, Tan Qian Hui and Chin Zeyang, they emerged triumphant over the formidable students from University of Malaya (UM), who were the other finalists.

In addition to these victories, ATC also achieved a clean sweep of the top awards by securing both the Best Team Written Submissions accolade and honouring Lavanya Nair as the Best Oralist.

The success of ATC solidifies their reputation of being a top private law school in Malaysia and is a testament to ATC’s commitment to providing an exceptional legal education that not only focuses on theoretical knowledge but also emphasises practical skills that are essential in the legal profession.
