Entry Requirements
STPM:
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Minimum CGPA 2.80 at STPM Level AND
- Obtained Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) at STPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics (T)
- Physics/Chemistry and
- Obtained Grade C at SPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics OR
- Must pass the Mathematics and/or Physics reinforcement course provided by the University of Technology Malaysia during the first year of studies.
- The candidate does not have any of the following disabilities (Blindness/ Deafness/ Mute/ Learning Difficulty/ Paralysis/ Physical Disability) that make learning and practical work difficult.
Matriculation/Foundation:
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Minimum CGPA 2.80 at Matriculation/Foundation Level AND
- Obtained Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) at Matriculation/Foundation Level in TWO(2) the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Chemistry/ Engineering Chemistry / Physics/ Engineering Physics/ Biology AND
- Obtained Grade C at SPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics OR
- Must pass the Mathematics and/or Physics reinforcement course provided by the University of Technology Malaysia during the first year of studies.

Diploma/Equivalent:
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or other qualification from UTM/IPT/Equivalent with at least a CGPA of 2.75; OR
- Candidates who have a CGPA of less than 2.75 but have at least two (2) years of working experience in the field applied for are also eligible to apply AND
- Obtained at least a credit at SPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics OR
- Obtained at least Grade C at the Certificate (MQA Level 3)/Diploma/Equivalent level in one of the Mathematics and Physics-related subjects OR
- Must pass Mathematics and/or Physics reinforcement course provided by the University of Technology Malaysia during the first year of studies AND
- No physical disabilities that make practical work difficult.
- MUET:
- Obtained at least (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or within the first 4 Semesters of study.
- Obtained at least (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or within the first 4 Semesters of study.
