Notes:
- Students who are eligible to apply for PRISMS are those with academic qualification who are in Year 3 Semester 2 with cumulative average grade value of CGPA 3.3 and above.
- Students can apply for PRISMS in Year 3 Semester 2 through the Program Integrasi Sarjana MudaSarjana (PRISMS) application form and must be recommended by the Academic Advisor, approved by the Program Director and certified by the Chair of School or Dean of Faculty.
Entry Requirements
STPM Graduate
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Minimum CGPA 2.80 at STPM Level AND
- Obtained Grade B (NGMP 3.00) at STPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics (T)
- Physics
- Obtained at least Grade C in Mathematics and Physics at SPM level OR
- Obtained at least Grade B (NGMP 3.00) at STPM Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics (T)
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Obtained at least Grade C in Mathematics and Grade B in Physics at SPM level AND
- The candidate does not have any of the following disabilities (Blindness/ Deafness/ Mute/ Learning Difficulty/ Paralysis/ Physical Disability) that make learning and practical work difficult.
Matriculation/Foundation Graduate:
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Minimum CGPA 2.80 at Matriculation/Foundation Level AND
- Obtained Grade B (3.00) at Matriculation/Foundation Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics AND
- Obtained at least Grade C in Mathematics and Physics at SPM level OR
- Obtained Grade B (NGMP 3.00) at Matriculation/Foundation Level in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Chemistry

Diploma Graduate:
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Possess a Diploma in Engineering or Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Communications/Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent from UTM/IPT/Equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.80; OR
- Candidates who have a CGPA of less than 2.80 but have at least two (2) years of working experience in the field applied for are also eligible to apply AND
- Obtain a minimum credit (Grade C) at the SPM level in TWO (2) of the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics OR
- Candidates who do not meet the requirements for Mathematics and Physics at SPM level must obtain at least Grade C at Diploma level in TWO (2) of the following subjects: Mathematics and Physics OR
- Candidates who do not meet the SPM/Diploma Mathematics and Physics requirements must pass the Mathematics and/or Physics reinforcement course specified by the University AND
- The candidate does not have any of the following disabilities (Blindness/ Deafness/ Mute/ Learning Difficulty/ Paralysis/ Physical Disability) that make learning and practical work difficult.
Note:
- Candidates are required to upload the complete examination results during the Diploma (First semester to final semester) and a copy of the Diploma or confirmation letter of completion through the UPUOnline system.
- The year of entry and the period of study are subject to the credit exemption approved by UTM.
A LEVEL/ IB/ AUSMAT Graduate or Equivalent
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Have a GCE A Level qualification with at least a Grade B or Possess International Baccalaureate Diploma qualifications (IB) by getting Grade 5 subjects HL level or Possess Australian Matriculation Program (AUSMAT) with Grade B/ 70% ATAR Rank in TWO (2) the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Obtain a minimum credit (Grade C) at SPM Level or equivalent in TWO (2) of the following subjects: Mathematics and Physics OR
- Have a GCE A Level qualification with at least a Grade B, or Possess International Baccalaureate Diploma qualifications (IB) by getting Grade 5 subjects HL level or Possess Australian Matriculation Program (AUSMAT) with Grade B/ 70% ATAR Rank in THREE (3) the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Obtained at least a Grade C in Mathematics and Grade B in Physics at SPM level or equivalent AND

APEL.A Graduate
- Meet the University's General Requirements and Programme's Specific Requirements.
- Possess an APEL.A Certification Certificate from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) with Level 6 of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF);AND
- Pass the Bridging Module (Test and/or Interview) set by the faculty AND
- The candidate does not have any of the following disabilities (Blindness/ Deafness/ Mute/ Learning Difficulty/ Paralysis/ Physical Disability) that make learning and practical work difficult.
- MUET: Band 2
- For examinations starting in Session 1 of 2021 or
- Band 2 for examinations up to 2020, according to the validity period on the date of application.
