Course Highlights

Throughout this programme, you will complete a number of animation projects that will you them effective research methods and applications, conceptualisation and problem-solving abilities, and proficient presentation techniques
This programme was modelled after the practical processes of the animation production pipeline, so you learn to apply research to concept to create engaging storylines, powerful content and memorable character designs, beginning with a strong foundation in theoretical understanding and creative thinking projects
Your abilities will be honed through intensive technical training in the necessary 3D production skills and techniques, as well as your expertise in creating time-based media, video and audio production, video compositing and film studies
Be educated on the laws pertaining to content development, copyrights and intellectual property rights, professional ethics and best practises, in addition to creative and technical knowledge, to ensure that you are adequately equipped to excel in this exciting creative industry of Animation, Film and Post-production

Entry Requirements

STPM: A minimum of Grade C in any 2 subjects
STAM: A minimum grade of Jayyid
A Level: A minimum of Grade D in any 2 subjects
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects
SAM: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in any 2 subjects
CPU: An average of 70% in any 6 subjects
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Diploma with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points)
TVET Diplomas: Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM):
- 1. Must be fully accredited by MQA
- 2. A minimum CGPA of 2.50 OR CGPA 2.00 with at least 2 years working experience in relevant field, subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval
- 3. Applicants will be required to pass the admission screening process conducted by the faculty and undergo the Bridging programme, if necessary, during the period of their study in addition to the existing curriculum structure
- 4. Credit transfer can be considered on a case-to-case basis and subject to existing credit transfer policies which are in effect
UTAR Foundation/Matriculation or Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning/Diploma (Level 4, MQF)/Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF):
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00
Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government AND
**Applicants will be required to submit a portfolio for review, regrdless of whether they have taken the SPM Art subject**

Portfolio Submission:

Submit three drawings that must demonstrate specific artistic skills. The completed drawing or artwork must be clearly scanned or photographed and then submitted as individual JPEG files. A detailed description of the drawing requirements and submission process will be provided.
In addition to the above submission, a video recording of the drawing process of all three drawings must be submitted via We Transfer or Plus Transfer. The video should capture the applicant's face during the drawing process with close-ups of the drawing. A detailed description of the video recording and submission process will be provided.
Exemption from the requirement for the portfolio submission or internal assessment will be considered for Foundation/Matriculation/Diploma in the relevant field or equivalent qualifications
The panel reserves the right to invite the applicant for an interview if questions arise

Malaysian Applicants

STPM/UEC/qualfications not conducted fully in English: Credit in English language at SPM level OR
O-Level English: Grade C OR
UEC English: Grade B OR
MUET Band: 3.5 OR
IELTS Band: 5.0 OR
TOEFL: 40(iBT)/7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 OR
Cambridge English: 154/100(OET)/ ELS CIEP Level 107/ HEET 6 (NOT applicable for A-Level/SAM/CPU or entry qualifications conducted fully in English BUT must have a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent)
Those who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English language at SPM level / equivalent are required to take the Intensive English Programme and pass CEFR B2 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme
