Minimum entry score
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least a WAM of 60 or any other qualification deemed equivalent by the University

- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Paper Edition from 21 January 2026 total score of 4 with Listening 3, Reading 3.5, Writing 4.5 and Speaking 3.5
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Paper Edition prior to 21 January 2026 total score of 79 with Listening 12, Reading 13, Writing 21 and Speaking 18
- TOEFL Essentials total score of 8 with Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 9 and Speaking 7
- PTE Academic overall score of 58 with Listening 50, Reading 50, Writing 50 and Speaking 50
- C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency overall score of 176 with Listening 169, Reading 169, Writing 169 and Speaking 169
Notes:
- A time limit of 3 years is applicable from the date the English language measure was completed until the course commencement date
- Monash University does not accept TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition or Pearson Test of English (Academic) Online as satisfying the English entry requirement for any Monash course
Ways to demonstrate English language proficiency
- English language proficiency can be demonstrated through studying English at Year 12 or equivalent, studying at an institution where English is the language of instruction, English Proficiency Tests or Monash English Bridging
Monash English (ME) exception for this course
- Successful completion of Monash English meets the Monash University English language requirements for all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees except the Master of Professional Counselling
Note: Should the Monash English requirement be lower than the Malaysian Government requirement for destination degree, the higher requirement will still apply
