UTAR's President Awarded FEIAP Engineer of the Year 2019

Congratulations to Professor Datuk Dr Chuah Hean Teik, President of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), for receiving the illustrious Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) Engineer of the Year 2019 award! The award was presented at the 5th FEIAP Convention Dinner and Award Night held in Xian, China on 29 June 2019.
The Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) was introduced in 2008 to recognise engineers who have attained the highest standards of ethics and conduct, as well as those who contributed substantially to society.
As a respected educator, researcher and technical leader, Prof. Chuah began his career in academia in 1986 and has taken on the role of professor for the last 22 years. To date, he has published more than 260 international journal and conference papers and also helms the position of president of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology.
In addition to his magnitude serving as president at various institutions, Prof. Chuah helped draw up the FEIAP Engineering Education Guidelines, in which he provided a framework for the development of an engineering programme accreditation system in the region. He has also been appointed as a mentor of the Engineering Accreditation System for developing ASEAN countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia and Rwanda.
