Taylor's College, a pioneer of pre-university education in Malaysia, recently celebrated a remarkable milestone of over 40 years of partnership with the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Board of South Australia. As a provider of the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) pathway programme to thousands of students over the years, this longstanding collaboration has consistently delivered outstanding education, equipping students with essential skills and knowledge for a successful future in higher education and their careers.

At a celebratory event held at Taylor's Lakeside Campus, the event featured a panel discussion titled "Transforming Education: Shaping the Future of Learning." Panel experts Virginia Steele, Acting Director of Education Services of SACE Board; Kar-Yee Ong, Senior Country Officer for University of Melbourne; and Taylor’s College SACE alumnus, Muhammad Naif Muhammad Zain; explored the vast opportunities and potential for academic and social excellence through the AUSMAT pathway.

In fact, the AUSMAT programme at Taylor’s College is renowned worldwide for its effectiveness in preparing students for higher education and future career success, with an impressive 51.9% achieving an ATAR of 80 and above, ranking them among the top 20% globally. The programme is a global passport that grants students access to some of the most prestigious universities in Australia and around the world including The University of Melbourne, The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), The University of Hong Kong and The University of Auckland.

Josephine Tan, the Campus Director of Taylor's College, expressed her pride in the partnership, stating, "With our holistic approach and comprehensive pastoral care programme, Taylor's College equips students with the skills and knowledge for a successful future. Dr. Steven Barraclough from the Australian High Commission also congratulated Taylor's College and the SACE Board on the 40th anniversary of their first graduating students, remarking, “The SACE Board and Taylor’s College were international education pioneers when they commenced delivering this world-class Australian matriculation programme in Malaysia in 1982. The AUSMAT pathway is recognised internationally for entry into some of the world’s most prestigious universities and provides Malaysian graduates with the full range of analytical, intercultural and critical thinking skills which will allow them to thrive both personally and professionally.”

During the panel discussion, Taylor's College SACE alumnus and PETRONAS scholars Muhammad Naif shared his journey and the importance of choosing the right educational pathway. He emphasised that choosing an institution with a good track record and robust pastoral care support is crucial, in addition to selecting a pathway that is aligned with one's interests and passions.
