IUMW Celebrates Its University's 4th Graduation Ceremony - Feature-Image

On 1 December 2018, 257 graduates received their graduation scrolls from International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) alongside Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes who was made the Chancellor of IUMW at the university’s 4th graduation ceremony held in MARTRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Graduates across various disciplines such as professional communication, business administrationaccountingpsychology, project management, internet engineering, computer science and biotechnology were honoured during the ceremony.

During his speech, Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes told the congregation to embrace digital technology and that educators must keep up with the fast pace that technology is moving in as it is imperative for students to be equipped with ICT and collaborative skills as well as be interested in lifelong learning.

The Malaysian entrepreneur also said, “Whether you are already in the public, private, or teaching sectors, or intend to be your own boss, I wish to share with you my famous quote: Believe the unbelievable, dream the impossible and never take no for an answer.”

Under the limelight was also IUMW Valedictorian, Jeffrey Yap Boon Hui who is a Doctor of Philosophy (Project Management) graduate while Michelle Foong Ern Cher who received her Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) was recognised as IUMW Best University Student.

Meanwhile, the best students from various faculties were Wan Adib Bin Azaman (Faculty of Business and Law), Sarah Alia Binti Ahmad Affendy (Faculty of Arts and Humanities), Lim Yen Theng (Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Lim Yen Theng), and Nur Syafiqa Balkis Binti Md Din (Faculty of Health and Social Science).
