Nottingham Malaysia Invites You To Celebrate October With “Kampung Boy” and Other Exciting Events
Meet the award-winning cartoonist Dato’ Lat in a special event organised by Nottingham Malaysia’s School of English.

“Do you have fond memories of flipping through the ‘Kampung Boy’ comics as a kid? Want to meet the award-winning Malaysian cartoonist himself?
Well, here’s your chance!
This October, the University of Nottingham Malaysia’s School of English is organising a series of exciting events ranging from career talks to special events.
Join them to meet Malaysian icon Dato' Mohammad Nor Khalid, better known as Lat, in a special event titled “In Conversation with Dato’ Lat”. If you’ve ever had any lingering questions you wanted to ask Dato’Lat like what was his inspiration for the cast of characters in “Kampung Boy” then here’s your chance to ask him the questions you’ve been burning to ask the Malaysian icon.
Other events include a research talk by Dr Melissa Yoong, Associate Professor of Sociolinguistics at Nottingham Malaysia, who will be looking at how linguistics plays a role in empowerment and gender equality.
