APU Honoured for Excellence in Cybersecurity Education at Malaysia’s Cyber Security Awards 2024

Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) has recently been honoured with the prestigious Cyber Security Innovation (Education) of the Year award at the Malaysia Cyber Security Awards 2024, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The award from Cybersecurity Malaysia highlights APU’s commitment to developing advanced learning environments for future cybersecurity professionals.
The award was accepted by Datuk Parmjit Singh, CEO of APU and the APIIT Education Group, from Rear Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Mohd Fadzli Kamal Bin Mohd Mohaldin, Director General, Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division, Ministry of Defence Malaysia.
“This accolade from Cybersecurity Malaysia is a testament to APU’s relentless pursuit of excellence in cybersecurity education. It affirms our commitment to equipping the next generation of cybersecurity experts with the skills and knowledge needed to address the complex challenges of today and tomorrow,” Datuk Parmjit Singh shared, expressing his pride for the award.
Part of APU’s success as the leading institution in cybersecurity education lies in their innovative teaching approach and cutting-edge Teaching and Learning (T&L) facilities. This includes the Cyber Range, a comprehensive Cyber Threats Simulation and Response Centre; the Security Operations Centre (SOC), a hands-on training ground for cybersecurity operations; the Networking Academy, supported by global technology leader CISCO; and the Forensics and Cyber Security Research Center (FSeC), which focuses on collaborative industry research.
Furthermore, the institution’s curriculum is continuously updated to demonstrate the latest trends and to ensure that students receive the latest and relevant cybersecurity knowledge. In addition to that, APU encourages students to participate in various competitions and projects. These initiatives have resulted in high graduate employability rates and impressive achievements in cybersecurity-related projects.
Since 2019, the university has been recognised at the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards with Gold Awards for Best Asia Cybersecurity Education Provider. Thus with this latest award, APU further solidifies their reputation as the leading institution in cybersecurity education.
