"Your grades are so good — you should be a doctor, or it'll be a waste!"

"You should study medicine. You'll have a stable job and earn good money."

"Why don't you be a doctor? You're good in Science, and you can save lives!"

The truth is, many students have romanticised and unrealistic ideas about becoming a doctor, or merely go into medicine due to external pressure.

In fact, one in five doctors undergoing training at hospitals quit and drop out. That's after FIVE years of medical school and RM300,000 spent.

It doesn't end there though. After that, you still may need to go through the painful wait of several months for a placement as a houseman. And how long will it take for you to complete your specialisation? A growing number of doctors are having to wait for about 15 years.

So, are you TRULY prepared for med school and the life of being a doctor?

One of the best ways to find out if a degree is suitable for you is to do an internship. And if you've always dreamed of being a doctor, here's your chance to do just that!

The Malaysian Medics International (MMI) is organising a one-day only shadow programme where you get a chance to be a medical student for a day! It's a great way to find out how med school is REALLY like, as you will be surrounded by medical students and doctors.

As part of this programme, you will:

  • Hear firsthand what it's like to be a doctor
  • Experience ward work in a hospital
  • Discover how doctors perform diagnosis via problem-based learning
  • Spend valuable time with mentors to ask ANY questions you have

... and a lot more other insights!

Now, if you've ever wanted to have a sneak peak into the life of a doctor, it would be almost impossible, seeing how they're terribly busy saving lives.

But with this event, it will only cost you RM100. And because we really don't want you to be part of that drop-out statistic, we've partnered with MMI to offer you an additional RM20 discount for this event.

That's just RM80 for precious, valuable insights into the life a doctor. It's a small, tiny investment to find out if being a doctor is indeed for you, compared to the RM100,000s that you may end up wasting.

Click here to buy your tickets at EventBrite, and don't forget to key in EduAdvisorMMI2016 as the discount code. If you don't have a credit card, select "Other Payment Options".

Deadline for registration ends on 11th June 2016 (Saturday), and limited seats are available, so hurry to avoid disappointment.
